During his address at the Business Integrity Conclave 2.0, Mr. Nandkumar highlighted the crucial obstacles micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) encounter when incorporating integrity, responsible innovation, Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) alignment, sustainability, and compliance into their fundamental business operations. He noted that while the primary objective is to boost throughput and profitability, substantial overhead costs linked to compliance and governmental regulations impede swift expansion.

Mr. Nandkumar concluded by proposing a government incentive: industrial tax rebates for MSMEs that voluntarily contribute to sustainability goals, publish ESG reports, and follow BRSR reporting guidelines, providing strong motivation for formal ethical practices.
